Registration is open for an upcoming virtual training to become a facilitator for Pisando Fuerte, the Spanish version of the high-level, evidence-based falls prevention program Stepping On. The training takes place November 12-15, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Facilitators must:
- Be a healthcare professional or have other experience working with groups of older adults OR
- Be someone who works with Hispanic or Latino older adults AND
- Be fluent in Spanish AND
- Be employed by or volunteer for a registered program provider AND
- Hold at least one community workshop every 12 months AND
- Identify an eligible co-facilitator at registration

Falls Free CT is another resource available to healthcare providers interested in getting involved with statewide falls prevention efforts. Launched in partnership between the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), Falls Free CT is a coalition uniting falls prevention champions to reduce the incidence of falls among older adults, educate professionals and the public about the importance of falls prevention, and share resources and best practices.
