The Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership (CT BHP), in conjunction with the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA), is hosting a free virtual forum for healthcare professionals that explores behavioral health treatment interventions and screening tools for youth struggling with symptoms of aggression.
The upcoming webinar, which takes place Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 2:30-5:00 p.m., aims to discuss treatment challenges, share best practices and relevant research, and review screening interventions for youth struggling with aggressive behaviors. Presenters include Denis G. Sukhodolsky, Ph.D., a Yale Child Study Center professor, and Dr. Drew Barzman, director of Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Participants in the forum will explore clinical characteristics and diagnostic assessment of irritability and aggressive behavior in youth, identify principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat youth with aggression and irritability, and develop an understanding of the Brief Rating of Aggression by Children and Adolescents (BRACHA) assessment tool.
The event is administered by Carelon Behavioral Health, an approved trainer for the Connecticut Certification Board (CBB), and offers National Association for Social Workers (NASW) continuing education credits (CECs) and continuing medical education credits (CMEs) for physicians and nurses. The forum has been approved by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) for psychologist CECs.
